Sorting Builds

A way to sort builds by profession would be helpful. Imagine checking every page to find your profession's builds versus clicking one link to find all the builds in one place.

Category:Builds by Profession? -Auron 08:52, 14 July 2007 (CEST)

sweet. needs a link on the front page, though. unless i couldn't find it either...

I'd propose this instead. Using special pages keeps the lists up to date automatically, while categories rely on users remembering to manually tag each build. Experience with the Campaign categories shows that many builds are not tagged. Btw: On the long run, we plan to establish a build search engine which will include also a filter for professions. – HHHIPPOsysop› 12:01, 14 July 2007 (CEST)
Wow, this is exactly what I needed. I wasn't just "imagining" checking every page to find my profession's builds... I was doing it. I was getting frustrated, so I started searching for a way to suggest just a feature! The main reason I think this is useful is because I'm personally not usually looking for specific builds, just ideas for things that I can use for myself in playing around with secondary professions. Anyways, I'm now excitedly changing my PvXwiki bookmark to point to the Builds by Profession page, and am very seriously voting for something like this to be on the Main page. --Qrystal 14:56, 20 July 2007 (CEST)

Making a Build

The way you make a new build is pretty simple. You start by creating the link, which you can do either by searching for that link and then choosing the option that says "create this page," or, you can add the link to another page, your user page for instance and then follow the subsequently created red link. In general, the most useful guide to writing the actual page is probably this, but, there's also a section at the bottom of the Main Page entitled Contributing to PvXwiki where you'll find a number of useful links to policies and guides relating submitting builds. Hope that helps. Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 19:13, 22 August 2007 (CEST)

It's not something that we control. When BBCode gets updated, our skill pop-ups will be updated as well. Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 00:10, 21 August 2007 (CEST)
I see, so when it updates it scours the current GuildWiki Build pages and updates them thusly? --Ckal Ktak 00:12, 21 August 2007 (CEST)
No, BBCode is done by the people at gwshack, I believe. They have to release an updated version, and then Gcardinal and/or Hhippo has to modify it for PvXwiki's needs. --Edru viransu//QQ about me 00:14, 21 August 2007 (CEST)
Edru is correct. BBCode is updated by GWShack. Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 00:15, 21 August 2007 (CEST)
No ideas as to when that's due then? --Ckal Ktak 00:15, 21 August 2007 (CEST)

Making a Build

Ok so this sound ubernoobish, but how can i actually start and make a build :S isnt there just like a page that says: write a build and then u get something like attribs and u put that in cause i got a solo shiro at imperial sanctum and i`d like to post it =)

Icons

OMG WTF NEW ICONS! PaintballerSig The Paintballer (T/C) 08:35, 24 August 2007 (CEST)

They're prettier ;). Besides which, they make the page look more uniform (i.e. the columns for the "Working" sections are now of the same size as each other). Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 08:38, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
They do look quite a bit better, but it was still interesting leaving the page for about 3 minutes, then coming back and seeing a different main page. Now all we need is to get the GW:EN skills working in build templates. :D GD Defender-Signature|GD Defender / contribs 08:41, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
GW:EN skills will work when BBCode is updated by GWShack. All we can do is wait. Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 08:42, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
Yeah, I just read up the page. u_u GD Defender-Signature|GD Defender / contribs 08:42, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
Heh. I only edit by section, so I don't pay attention to the rest of the Talk page. Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 08:43, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
Same, but I was actually scrolling up on my way to research how to change the build template when I noticed the header. Just happens that it was the exact information I was looking for. Hope there are late-nighters over there getting ready to release a new version in about fifteen minutes. <_<; GD Defender-Signature|GD Defender / contribs 08:47, 24 August 2007 (CEST)

Apparently Cardinal is planning a new design for the whole site :). Defiant Elements Sig Test 2 *Defiant Elements* +talk 08:48, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
