Build talk:W/Rt VwK Farmer
From PvXwiki
Grabbing Saver Artery instead of Healing Sig and Resilient Weapon instead of "Watch Yourself!" would mean you can with little resistance bleed Coldfire Nights to death, Ive had to do that several times since they all was tend to get stuck or lag in front of me =D Biz 14:52, 3 June 2007 (CEST)
Then your sword points would be useless half the time, while holding ashes. Tycn 15:14, 3 June 2007 (CEST)
- I'm not putting anything but few points into the sword just to rise it to 3-4, them I get from tactics and or strength =D Biz 20:51, 3 June 2007 (CEST)
SoJ. Readem (talk*pvxcontribs) 15:19, 3 June 2007 (CEST)
- That isnt much better mind you, at least for a Warrior Biz 20:53, 3 June 2007 (CEST)
this can be used to farm dead bow from undeads outside of bergen hot springs in hard mode, but you need to swap sprint to resilient weapon
- Dead Bows are indeed farmed much efficiently using SoJ as Readem suggested above on a M/D not a Warrior Biz 20:53, 3 June 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Personal experience with equipment...
I find that by using Knight's insignia armor with +7 armor vs. physical on an axe/sword, I can far more easily tank 2 groups of smites at the same time and wipe them all out at once than with Glad's and +30 HP where I'd have trouble with two groups of 5. IMO the ease of killing more groups at once outweighs the loss of energy pool. The shelter mod is *far* better at saving you health in the long run than the +30 mod as well as being a heck of a lot cheaper. Also, I really wouldn't advise using a spear for this run for though they are classed as a melee weapon, their hit rate is far slower so you cannot charge Bonetti's as fast. I would advise a furious hilt/haft and wouldn't bother with a different shield for the running part at all.
Also, Graspings will interrupt Healing Signet if you use it all the time specifically to waste their interrupts.
- I go with Aegis of Terror having +10 vs demons and 30 health, its lot more usefull then -5 (20%) Biz 18:52, 20 June 2007 (EDT)
- Checked on Guild Wiki...Smite Crawlers are not deamons, and neither are Grasping Darknesses. As you should not be engaging Aataxes, whose species is unknown, you are much better off with a different shield. I use Victo's Bulwark as i am always under VWK or Bonnetti's. Damage reduction is only important during the times that i am not under VWK. The only time that this has probably made any real difference was when i aggroed 4 mobs of Smites...i normally try to fight them two or three mobs at a time. I also use an axe with same stats as totem axe...even though it would be better to have a fort or defense mod instead of enchant.Killer Revan 18:11, 11 July 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Resilient Weapon
I see that RW is suggested for farming other areas of UW, since I'm new to UW farming, I was wondering what might be possible and how you would go about it?
In normal mode I can do the entire smite farm (From clearing the chamber to the smites) without using Watch Yourself and Healing Signet, and I think I might even be able to do without one of the running skills. I was thinking maybe putting riposte and deadly riposte on there with something else for farming aaxtes. I would just like to get more out of my farm then the smites. If anyone has suggestions I would be very grateful! 69.246.236.111 20:18, 7 June 2007 (CEST)
- I doubt you'll be able to farm the aatxes. Keep in mind that the running skill is there so you can match their speed, not beat it. -- Armond Warblade
{{sysop}} 00:07, 10 June 2007 (CEST)
- While Farming Aatxes would potentially give you more ectos per monster killed compared to Smites, this build is unable to deal with them, mainly because single hit from them is something like 60-100 damage on 121 Armour. Besides they are strong anti melee having two riposte skills, using a restoration wand to get adrenaline would do but you need a hell lot of healing and armor/blocking to get anywhere. So its still easier to farm smites only in normal mode and run from Aatxes. Biz 12:23, 10 June 2007 (CEST)
- This build is in fact possible with only one run skill. If you time your use properly you can shake the Aatxes after the first archway after the Grasps using Sprint/Enraging. If you got it right the duration will last you til you get up the stairs past the second archway with enough steam to also lose the second set of Aatxes waiting in the second room. Grasps might follow you, but all you have to do is travel up to or a little past the first group of Smites with VWK up and you'll move out of their aggro range.--72.68.88.50 07:10, 30 June 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Other farmable creatures
This build can easily farm many other creatures, including spellcasters and ranged creatures to a lesser degree due to Bonetti's Defense only activating on melee attacks. I suggest we put in a another section to tell what other creatures you can farm with this build. I've easily replaced this build for my older Triple Axe vermin farmer due to no aggro scatter with this, and I also farmed trolls to a great result with this build. I suspect many more options that this can farm.
I replaced the run skills with "I Will Survive" and Balanced Stance to farm vermins and the Sprint with Shield Stance to farm trolls.Mister abc 04:26, 11 June 2007 (CEST)
- "I Will Survive" Is still cool... On the other hand, I think most players will find that Balanced Stance is now obsolete. There's a new anti-KD skill 'on the block'. "I am Unstoppable" FromStokoe 13:34, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
[edit] W/Rt?
Does this build work with Rt/W? Don't want to waste money on it if someone else has already tried it :)
There you go. Build:Rt/W Smite Crawler Farmer Readem (talk*pvxcontribs) 22:42, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
I know... been working on that one. So far prefer the Warrior one though (easier).
The Rt/W is two times faster and even though it may not be a safe, I have no problems with the builds. Rt/W is just as fast as E/Me terra tank but it is safer. --Swift Thief 01:51, 17 June 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Skill Variants
Wouldn't Wary Stance be preferable to Bonetti's Defense in the UW since it is guaranteed to block all of the Graspings' interrupt skills and, in doing so, net some energy?
- I don't use this build but I'm guessing bonneti's is e-management for the smites. - Skakid9090 15:55, 15 June 2007 (EDT)
- Bonetti's is more or less ideal, no reason to change it, and its used when your absolutely out of energy on Gaspings Biz 07:58, 17 June 2007 (EDT)
Is it possible to wield a Zealous Scythe, put Counterattack for Bonettis and use that for energy after u drop the ashes or is that a big no-no? I tried using cyclone axe as a quick way to gain adrenaline. Don't do that it activated all of the SoJs on all of the smites. Near instant kill. --James Nice 23:56, 24 August 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Sanctum Cay Run
I used this build to run the Sanctum Cay mission... I replaced watch yourself with signet of stamina... --Swift Thief 01:59, 7 July 2007 (CEST)
- The article is very specific about the farming spot only. I suggest to create a new page for the VWK Sanctum Cay Solo Warrior if you wish so (as all VWK builds are easy for SC). People would get very confused about this article, in the way it is presented now, in the running section. —
Luobailong ···talk ···builds 10:04, 25 August 2007 (CEST)
i love this build, cept everytime i pull a group of Grasps, go and use VwK they all seem to interrupt it at the same time, should i use something like healing sig to waste their interupt or what?
- You'll need to pre-cast it. Their first attack will always be distracting blow, if I recall correctly. Run away from the Aatxes and click the button as you're running. -- Armond Warblade
{{sysop}} 10:27, 29 October 2007 (CET)
- I'd suggest just wailing on them melee mode to build adrenaline for Bonetti's and use it as a cover for VwK.BLOODGOAT 21:14, 2 November 2007 (CET)
- I suggest as soon as they've surrounded you, use Vengeful Weapon then VwK. FromStokoe 13:35, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
[edit] Max Armor Rating?
Armor rating is maxed at 25. so why have 2 armor boosting skills? i Reccoment taking out dolyak and keeping watch yourself, since that can be kept up.--Chris 23:20, 22 December 2007 (EST)
- Dolyak prevents knockdowns, but you can't keep it up all the time. Watch yourself covers the downtime. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(sysop) 23:21, 22 December 2007 (EST)
- But WY is bad in comparison. Who cares about upkeep? You have ashes that make you invincible for ten seconds :/. --Readem
[edit] Vandalism has ruin this build
It have been some time since ive visit this build here, but i can see some changes that really give no meaning and only make this build worse than the original build - also called Vandalism!.
First, i wonder why in heavens name u waste so many meaningless points into Tactics - Remember, this is a STRENGTH-based build, build arround the skill: VwK - So.. most skills are strength and therefor most attripbute-point should be used here..and here u only have 9 Strength?!?
About BD(The only tactic skill in this build) - here u would only use as many attripbutepoint nessesery, to keep it running(that would be 9 tactics) - 13 in tactics, is not only a waste ..its beon any points of reason ..why??
At 9 Tactics, ull get BD up in 9 sec(thats how the build used to be). At 12 Tactics ull get 10 sec uptime. For another extra sec uptime(11 sec), ull need 15 Tactics - so my question is, why would ANYONE who know about setting up builds, make it 13 tactics??!!. Still, its a pretty high(and IMO useless) way to use attripbutepoints ...for 1 single sec extra ..and for what I have experienced, that would deffently NOT be a question about life or death!
Because of those changes(changing the strength from 16 ..down to 9), u have all below written problems to take care of:
1)The Dolyag Signet's uptime dossent run at 21 sec(as in the old build) and therefor all the talk about downtime/needing more buff-skills above.
2)Lower points in Strength gives u lower HP with Stamina. Placing urself in greater danger than needed.
3) Shorter runtime/uptime for each running-skill(4 and 5 less sec).
The build(as it is written now), only make this run even harder/more dangerous, than it should be.
Im sorry that my english is that bad, but im not born english and what u see, is what i have learned by seeing TV and pure interrest for playing online games.
- Try that again with a bit more clarity this time. If you put together a clear, well structured argument then we can either debate and/or change the build. As it is now, that rant is a mess. - PANIC!
pewpewpew! 12:01, 3 April 2008 (EDT)
- For short: generous was tsungrai + VwK = wtf.
Frans 12:12, 3 April 2008 (EDT)
- If u dont get the point by whats written allready, i fear that I cant help u then ..Well.. i can only tell u, that what u say about what i have writen(That rant is a mess), then u know exacly how i feel about the build, as it is now!
- Ill make some small change to make it more "readable" if u like... ;) - Edit: DONE!
- I changed "to the limit" with Wary Stance, running 12 restoration, 8+1 tactics,10+1+3 strength. Works wonderfull, no danger at all, full run in under 18 minutes (if good spawns even faster). Wonder why this build has only "good" rating...(Kai 13:29, 14 April 2008 (EDT))
- For short: generous was tsungrai + VwK = wtf.
[edit] Why only a good rating? This build is autopilot, STILL!
I hadn't been farming in a bit, and see that there have been some minor changes made from the original set up, but how has this build lost some of its luster? Albeit, the run takes a little longer. I find that this set up is way more forgiving than the W/Me set ups, and even in their talk pages they say that those builds are for more seasoned farmers. Using VwK is practically fire and forget. There is also no danger of getting anything stripped by the Dying Nightmares. I was just wondering.Like I said, for a new farmer looking to do smite runs with a warrior. This is a "Great" build to learn the run with. - FyrFytr998
[edit] Signet of Stamina, a Must?
I don't currently own nightfall and was therefore wondering if signet of stamina was a must have for this build or if it can be done without it? Everyone I've talked to has told me this is the best build to learn to farm smites on plus i'd like to be able to dust off my warrior for some farming. Any help with something to replace it with if it is ok to remove would be very much appreciated.Unkleanone 01:39, 22 July 2008 (EDT)
Ya just use weapon of warding on vengeful was khanei downtime. should have no problems Adacer 10:56, 28 July 2008 (EDT)
- Seriously, I personally find it totally useless. The only use I really have for it is as a health boost as I run to the Smites. Most of the time I end up hitting mobs for some extra Adrenaline to power Bonetti's Defense. I'd suggest swapping it out for Vengeful Weapon if using the build currently up. --Curse You

[edit] Skill Change?
By switching out "To the limit!" for Weapon of warding, you can, (and i frequently do) take on 5 groups of smites at once. You simply chain, Dolyak Signet, WEapon of Warding, and Bonetti's defense. this gives the smites a 87.5% chance to miss, and gives you healing in the downtime untill VwK can be cast again.Lokibrth 15:23, 9 August 2008 (EDT)
- meh, I wen't ahead and changed it, I guess people can always change it back if they don't like it. Also re-arranged the order of the skills, just so when people download it, the skills they need to use together are right next to each other. Lokibrth 15:37, 9 August 2008 (EDT)
[edit] Build Revamp
After reading through every ones comments on this page I started testing out other various suggestions. Many ectos later, (thanks to those suggestions) I have come up with a build that is faster, safer, and easier than ever to use.The completion time for smite runs now comes in at under 13 minutes like clockwork and I've even managed to hit 10 mins several times. I'll explain all of the changes and how they benefit the build.
- Strength Increase Besides taking this build back to its roots, increased strength gives many benefits. It allows you to have to carry only 1 run skill. It allows for permanent Dolyak Signet which allows the player to leave the shield at home and carry an offhand and wand with Half skill recharge to speed up the run significantly. The added armor from Dolyak Signet also means that with a Rune of Superior Absorption and Knight's Insignia you will take 0 damage from Graspings. Signet of Stamina now gives +300hp allowing for even easier survivability.
- Wary Stance This skill is excellent in that it lets you handle the Grasping Darkness as one large pull instead of 3 separate pulls with no fear at all of interruption. Simply cast it before you cast VwK. By having a shield or nothing equipped and switching to an offhand with energy you can easily cast it without even having to use Bonetti's.
- Weapon of Warding By chaining Dolyak Signet, Weapon of Warding, and Bonetti's Defense you can survive massive numbers of smites at once. The most I've been able to pull together is 5 groups and this chain handles that many with ease(with a shield).
- "To the Limit!" Bringing this skill back is quite useful for handling medium groups of smites (2-3) that don't necessarily build your adrenaline quickly for Bonetti's Defense. It is also useful when facing the Grasping Darkness if you do not have an offhand of energy to switch to. You can cast this skill as they chase you allowing you to have Bonetti's ready sooner.Lokibrth 12:42, 10 August 2008 (EDT)
[edit] REVOTE!
This build is one heck of an incredible build, I think most people don't realise just how "Auto-pilot" that this thing is.
I'm currently asking that the owner of this build would put it through a revote.
You've got nothing to loose.
All in favour... Make sure people know-so below :D
FromStokoe 13:38, 15 August 2008 (EDT)
- Builds don't get a revote as you can always vote on them. Now maybe setting it as a featured build so new players could see it and make new votes on it would be good. (Except the quality of people that vote on builds has become horrible so it might actually push it even more into the negative from people that don't understand it or simply want to see another method of farming used for their own ego)Lokibrth 18:14, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
