[edit] 2009 Skill Update
I would really recommend these builds be changed slightly to make the forest easier. Have the smiter bring balth spirit in place of life barrier (life barrier is not needed for anything at all). This leaves the 600 with only 2 enchants which is good for nature's renewal. It also frees up a skill slot which I use for "I an unstoppable". First of all, this allows you to take on multiple abysals easily without risk of dieing. This allows you to kill the group in front of the forge easily as well. It has many other uses though. It prevents knockdown from the impailers traps as well as cripple which can really help when you're trying to agro multiple things at the same time for speed. Also, I don't use sympathetic visage. I use spirit shackles. With 3 measly points in inspiration and spirit shackles, I can easily take out two monk groups like the one for the army quest. Also, you can kill a single monk group in about 45 seconds. Much faster than SV.--75.72.74.130 20:43, 8 February 2009 (EST)
- I've tested this very thoroughly and it works well so I changed the build.--75.72.74.130 03:09, 13 February 2009 (EST)
- Proof of how good this works [1] --75.72.74.130 01:56, 19 February 2009 (EST)
- I've been running this a lot of late and the build is good to do all the quests shown in the screenie above without much difficulty. However I find IAU is not really necessary. Abyssals can easily be pulled individually, and the Impaler's traps are simple to avoid, and easily cleared once they are dead by just walking into them with PS, SOA and sb up. I normally run "Finish Him" on the 600 and Castigation signet in place of purge signet on the smiter. The damage from the 3 smite signets and "Finish Him" make it considerably easier to take down the Dragon Liches, make the Doubters Dryders much easier to kill and spider cave much faster to clear. They also, in conjunction with spirit shackles make it possible to take on 2 monk groups. In fact the only group at the start it doesn't seem possible to kill is the 4 monks in one mob. (Or perhaps I just don't have the patience for that.)217.18.21.2 13:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
[edit] skill changes
Build:Team - Dual UW Smite. Really, come up with an original idea. Just add a variant and put a new usage section or something on the other page, dont make a new one. || Ressmonkey 21:15, 22 July 2007 (CEST)
- Shut ur mouth, I don't feel like writing a variants section for all this crap. I wrote that other build also.--Raps4life 06:42, 23 July 2007 (CEST)

I dunno guys I just thought it would be a good idea to write a new build for it. It's not like I came up with either idea, but it's just to get the build out to the community so people can learn it and use it. Plus like why would anyone ever want to do fow or uw with a group again? They go to farm ectos/shards mostly right? Well according to this article on gw.(Loot Sharing, last paragraph) we get all the shards/ectos/golds/tomes/dyes/greens. So why bring a group for fow or uw, well besides actually making the armor that is. Also, why even have solo farmers for greens, just take a group of henchies, you get the green if it drops :O. I really think we need to spread the word to everyone because most of the population of guild wars, and I know for a fact is under the impression that henchies/heros steal shards/ectos/golds/tomes/dyes/greens.--Raps4life 06:53, 23 July 2007 (CEST)
- heroes and henchies do steal, unless you flag them out of radar range. this should not be merged with dual smite, the usage is far too different. - Skakid9090 07:04, 23 July 2007 (CEST)
- so guildwiki lied to me :'(--Raps4life 07:09, 23 July 2007 (CEST)
is this really not alrdy on wiki. im very surprised. its good but i could have sworn ive seen this b4. but ya this is good.mizzouman 09:14, 29 July 2007 (CEST)
i'd choose Spirit Shackles over the visages and fleeting stability everytime.. visages are useless against 2mo+2me groups and the abbysals are no propblem at all, if you just cast your spells while knocked down (as soon as you get up they are casted)
this build is not new (and i don't care who did id first) but it works pretty well.. Vespertine 04:48, 31 July 2007 (CEST)
- Spirit Shackles is useless in HM, you need fleeting stability because once you agro 2+ abyssals death is almost assured, and its really hard to not agro 2 because they run around everywhere. You're right though, spirit shackles would be a whole lot better against the caster heavy groups in NM than the visages, I never thought of that skill, thanks for the input. Will most likely change it once I've tested it myself when I get around to it.--Raps4life 19:35, 9 August 2007 (CEST)
I tried this build today with smiter hero in hard mode and can say it definetly works good. I used balanced stance instead of fleeting stability and it worked ok, I just need to be careful when aggroing more than 1 abbyssal. And something to note is the energy when engaging a battle. Good build. Takzu 21:14, 14 August 2007 (CEST)
at Vespertine> tried spirit shackles, it's too hard to maintain them on 2 casters and impossible to maintain on 3 ie. monk, monk, mesmer group, therefor has no advantage over visages.--Raps4life 05:39, 15 August 2007 (CEST)
- Visages only on melee. --
frvwfr2 (T/C/RFA) 05:42, 15 August 2007 (CEST)
- Yeah but theres never a group of monks, which is the only thing you would need to e-denial without 2 warriors besides that one group of 2 monks, 1 mesmer, 1 warrior which visage nor shackles can do. Besides, visages make the monks die faster than spirit shackles, therefor I do not think it should be changed.--Raps4life 05:57, 15 August 2007 (CEST)
Am I allowed to rate this even though I wrote it? People are saying its good but not rating, this should easily get into great farming category. and it's not my build, I only posted it really.--Raps4life 22:16, 15 August 2007 (CEST)
mmm can i move this into great builds now?--Raps4life 17:12, 21 August 2007 (CEST)
"The only option for the build is Jayne's Staff" Meaning that the build will fail using any other staff? Perhaps the wording should be changed to "The best option for the build is Jayne's Staff" 12.175.211.39 23:12, 21 August 2007 (CEST)
or maybe u need the extra +30 hp idunno--Lucky121 ([[User talk:Lucky121talk]] 16:28, 28 August 2007 (CEST)
i use Byzzr's Benediction and caster chaos axe and it works like a charm... a superior rune and some survivor insignias... nothing special... and i have 600base...Mister Muscolo
Was just reading the recommended equipment for the Smiter. Why 20/20 smite? As far as I'm aware neither HSC or HSR affects signets.
[edit] Merge
I'm contemplating merging this build and Build:Team - Dual UW Smite into a singular build, as well as adding all the variants and different places it is capable of farming. I need some feedback though because I'm thinking it's gonna be huge. edit: ARGH why is it showing its tiny.--Raps4life 16:53, 2 September 2007 (CEST)

has anybody tried using scourge healing instead of bane sig and taking blessed sig along? my friend and I struggled againsed groups of monks and have tried this principle a little in other places and were wondering if anybody else has given it a go?-- mikey86

[edit] Armor With the Lowest Possible AL
Just so u know, the armorcrafter with the lowest AL is the 1 where factions characters start out, the armor AL there is 15.--Godess of Angels 17:31, 8 October 2007 (CEST)
- There's 15AL crafters in SJM, Ascalon and Kamadan, but the 5AL starter armour you get when you create the char is better. --Mala
17:52, 8 October 2007 (CEST)
- 0 AL headgear that accepts a rune is even better than starter headgear. The Ice Crown from the wintersday festival, for example.--War Pig5 13:47, 4 January 2008 (EST)
[edit] Hard Mode
Does this still work in HM dued to the recent buff to Word of Healing? cause now everytime I try it the monk spams it when there's 2-3 monsters left--Godess of Angels 18:34, 17 November 2007 (CET)
- it works with spirit shackles instead of fleeting stability
I've had trouble with the healers too. Then, how do you address the Abyssals? Markh 20:33, 4 December 2007 (CET)
- you can get quarter casts off before they hit again, meaning you can solo up to 2 abyssals
[edit] Runes
The article says "Other than the Superior Protection Rune have the best Vigor Rune you can afford and on the last 3 pieces of armor apply Runes of Vitae." However, there's also a minor Divine Favor, so shouldn't that be "the last 2 pieces of armor"? Moreover, isn't it better to achieve these stats with major runes of Protection and Divine Favor? That leaves you with more life (not to mention that it generally costs less gold). War Pig5 19:54, 26 December 2007 (EST)
[edit] More areas soloable, and quest!
im doing FoW smite right now, HM, with spirit shackles. I was able to solo (in addition to what you described)
- Forest of the wailing lord (maintain only wrath, retribution, balthazars spirit and blessed aura, and keep out of casting range from spirit shepherds)
- Tower of courage (quest)
- The Wailing Lord (quest)
- Burning forest (stay away from patrolling abyssals!)
- Army of Darkness (quest)
- Gift of griffons (quest)
more to come lawlz
- Burning forest is NOT possible with the build posted. You'd need echo'd Spell Breaker at 16 Divine Favor or a 3 man team with a QZ Ranger. The Ancient Scale there are always backed up by Smoke Walker healers and they will outlive your casts of Spell Breaker. Immediately SB falls the Scale will rend all your enchants. You'll be dead seconds after that.217.18.21.2 13:37, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Why away from abyssals? you can easily solo em... ok at least if they are 2 or less or more if you have totem axe/replica and an offhand with Halves cating of spells = protection prayers, so that you can spam SoA as well... I mean abyssals are dangerous because of the kockdown, and with good hero/player sync you can counter that one as well, use smiter signets to KD em so that you can recast safely... BTW: why not life attunement and vital blessing to be maintained?Mister Muscolo
because then you wont have dmg output, you can only maintain 2 enchantments in the forest, or you will have to snipe the spirit woods and come back afetrwards with everything on
- Humm... i dont understand the: not having DMG output part... seriously... this is a TEAM build, no? or are you trying to solo farm a thing that is doable in team very easily? i just dont get the downside of having a hero in barely enchant range... but i see the 4 energy regen thingie if solo... anyways i think duo farm is way too easy nowadays to be forced into solo...Mister Muscolo
barely in enchantrange is VERY hard especially with the spirit woods, however, doing it from north battlefield, you CAN do it.
[edit] Name Change
Could someone change the pages name to 600/Smite FoW and the uw guide to 600/Smite UW, I think it would be better.
[edit] Question about this
Do these 600/smite builds still work with the recent FoW/UW changes? Mostly the addition of signet of disenchantment.64.180.184.69 00:46, 11 July 2008 (EDT)
- There was no change to FoW, so yeah it works. ---

- It seems that the monks just out heal the damage, anyone else confirm? Retro77 22:28, 27 July 2008 (EDT)
- Ive used 600/Smite in FoW and it works. The monks are a pain, but in 1-2 minutes they go down. ---

[edit] Faster Monk kills
Build:Team_-_Guide_to_600/Smite_in_FoW
19:08, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
- That guide has slower killing because of lower health. Also, totally unneeded because this build has what that wants (detailed usage) and 600/Smite FoW is something that deserves a build, not a guide. Guides are for general things like playing a ranger or Norn Fighting Tournament, not farming UW with a monk primary two person build. ---

[edit] Happy
This is way more rewarding than 600/smite UW. Me and my friend get from 8-14 shards each run (WITHOUT SPIDER CAVE) and when we do UW we clear everything possible we get maybe 1 e if we are lucky so we are earning way more by doing FoW
