Build talk:E/W DoA Tank
From PvXwiki
i assume it means spell breaker, not serpent's quickness in the first parragraph in the description? 76.19.223.231 17:04, 8 July 2007 (CEST)
- you asume wrong, it used to be E/R but got changed, that part hasnt been changed tho.--Teh Uber Pwnzer 10:52, 11 July 2007 (CEST)
Wasn't the advantage to this build, that it could maintain OF indefinately? I don't DoA much, but I think that would be useful... Readem (talk*pvxcontribs) 07:45, 10 August 2007 (CEST)
- yeh but that's kinda useless when you have a good SB. this vers has more energy, great pulling, int protection for gloom, constant anti-knockdown, constant stoneflesh and higher reduction and armor then the warrior. —The preceding awesome-sauce comment was added by Skakid9090. 07:46, 10 August 2007 (CEST)

[edit] Immunity?
It uses recycling of Obsidian Flesh and Stoneflesh Aura to constantly maintain immunity to spells. Last time I checked obby flesh, even with a +20% enchantment) cant be kept up constantly and stoneflesh doesn't make you immune either? 124.148.61.102 14:18, 25 August 2007 (CEST)
- It is altering between Obsidian Flesh and Spell Breaker from a monk to maintain constant spell immunity. 20:29, 28 August 2007 (CEST)
how is this outdated or just meh? — Skakid9090 23:07, 31 August 2007 (CEST)
Fixed. Readem (talk*pvxcontribs) 23:15, 31 August 2007 (CEST)
[edit] E/Me
How about E/Me and use Mantra of Resolve for interrupt protection, and Glyph of Swiftness to keep up OF indefinitely? GoS lasts for 2 spells, even at 0 Air Magic, so you could use that to keep up ward of stability indefinitely too. No need for Wary Stance really... It only works on attack SKILLS, not attacks, so there is no real use for it. On another E/Me note, perhaps bring a visage? That will also stop interrupts from melee enemies, OF will stop interrupts from spells. If you bring both visages you don't have to worry about any +damage from attacks because they will have neither energy nor adrenaline. Without using Mantra of Resolve as a stance, you can use Stone Striker+Mantra of Earth for damage mitigation and energy. What do you guys say? The only problem would be Cry of Frustration or something along those lines, but this doesn't have to tank only DoA.
- You don't really need constant OF, since the SB. Balanced Stance is good for pulling in veil — Skakid9090 22:13, 3 October 2007 (CEST)
[edit] Video of these build?
I really want to see the effectivness. So can anyone please post a video on youtube or something? TY
[edit] Solo
You can tank solo actually, replace Ward Against Foes with Glyph of Swiftness and (with a +20% enchantment mod) you can keep Stoneflesh Aura and Obsidian Flesh up indefinitely by taking a few points out of Energy Storage.
I find this works well for me actually.Tengu
[edit] Cleanup
The original build doesn't use Glyph of Swiftness, but the variant for a dervish does? The main reason for a secondary was extra regen, according to the build page.
Don't get me wrong. You -should- include Glyph of Swiftness in any obby tank build, imo. Yes, you can cycle with an SB monk, but why waste a monk elite slot when you can easily maintain spell immunity yourself?
I also think Grasping Earth is vastly superior for the areas that dont have hex removal. That should be a variant. I don't ever make builds to post here -- I haven't really used/looked at most of the builds on here before even, so I'm not sure exactly what the etiquette is for editing already-vetted builds. But, I think this definitely needs it.
You also don't really need all that e-storage with on the original with balthazar's anyhow. Just my two cents.
- It also uses armor of earth, so I'd hope it's outdated. My point is, why is this still showing up under "great builds"? If it's no longer great, shouldn't it be removed?
- Apologies, I was editing between answering the phone at work, forgot my sig. :P -------->bad employee Ruse 21:32, 7 February 2008 (EST)
