This build is designed to put pressure on enemy casters by inflicting Dazed through the use of the Ranger elite skill Broad Head Arrow. Additional skills from the Wilderness Survival line are used to increase survivability and condition spreading with Apply Poison. The Monk secondary is used in conjunction with the main Ranger build to remove conditions.

Marksmanship 10 Broad Head Arrow Elite Bow Attack You shoot a broad head arrow that moves slower than normal. If it hits, target foe is Dazed for 15 seconds, and if target foe is casting a Spell that Spell is interrupted. 15 6 Optional Core No Profession. Unlinked Optional Optional Optional. Distracting Shot Core Ranger. Expertise 15 Distracting Shot Bow Attack If Distracting Shot hits, it interrupts target foe's action but deals only 16 damage. If the interrupted action was a skill, that skill is disabled for an additional 20 seconds. 10 ½ 2 Savage Shot Core Ranger. Marksmanship 10 Savage Shot Bow Attack If Savage Shot hits, your target's action is interrupted. If that action was a Spell, you strike for +23 damage. 5 ½ 4 Apply Poison Core Ranger. Wilderness Survival 10 Apply Poison Preparation For 24 seconds, foes struck by your physical attacks become Poisoned for 11 seconds. 12 2 6 Natural Stride Nightfall Ranger. Wilderness Survival 10 Natural Stride Stance For 6 seconds, you run 33% faster and have a 50% chance to block incoming attacks. Natural Stride ends if you become Hexed or Enchanted. 12 2 Mending Touch Nightfall Monk. Protection Prayers 3 Mending Touch Spell Touched ally loses two Conditions and is healed for 24 Health for each Condition removed in this way. 6 ¾ 2 Resurrection Signet Core No Profession. Unlinked Resurrection Signet Signet Resurrect target party member. That party member is returned to life with 100% Health and 25% Energy. This Signet only recharges when you gain a morale boost. 3 Template code

[edit] Equipment

• As with most Ranger builds, a Recurve bow is preferred.
• Bows with Poisonous and Silencing upgrades are required. Additionally, a Vampiric bow may be used.
• Other bow types include a Flatbow and a Longbow.
• A +5 Energy martial weapon and a Reduce Crippled Duration shield are recommended for fleeing from enemies.

[edit] Usage

• Constantly maintain Apply Poison.
• Inflict Dazed with Broad Head Arrow. Because of the increase in Arc angle, it has an increased chance of being dodged by moving targets, so you may wish to close in on the target before firing.
• Interrupt targets with Distracting Shot and Savage Shot.
• Scroll through and attack each target to spread Poison to the enemy team.
• Block enemy attacks and flee using Natural Stride.
• Remove harmful conditions with Mending Touch.
• Resurrect fallen party members with Resurrection Signet.

• Standard anti-attacker counters
  • Damage on-attack hexes like Empathy, Spiteful Spirit, Insidious Parasite
  • Unless you have hex removal, this build can be seriously hampered by anti-martial hexes
  • Constant blinding can be hard to prevent, even with Mending Touch
• Diversion and Distracting Shot

[edit] Variants

• Purge Signet
• Whirling Defense or Lightning Reflexes
• Shadow Walk to reduce the chance that Broad Head Arrow will miss.
• You can change your secondary to Mesmer and replace mending touch with Epidemic to spread dazed and poison (PvE-only).
• You can replace Resurrection Signet with Rebirth or another hard res skill
